Carmen Perez is Founder of Better Next, an S in ESG firm that leads social impact projects for companies. Specifically touted for her extraordinary expertise in measurement, she puts her nearly two decades of cross-sector S in ESG experience to work as an advisor, facilitator, innovator, researcher, and strategist. Prior to Better Next, Carmen was Senior Director, Corporate Strategy & Impact at Chief Executives for Corporate Purpose (CECP).
Featured in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and other top tier publications as a futurist voice on corporate social impact trends, she’s written or contributed to more than 15 corporate social impact thought leadership papers on measurement and data. Together with corporate partners, Carmen led the development of a metric included in the World Economic Forum’s Common Metrics for Measuring Stakeholder Capitalism.
She has spent over 5,000 hours advising on measurement practices with corporate social impact leaders from more than 100 multinational corporations such as: Alcoa, Campbell Soup Company, Chevron, Dell, Discovery Education, Impossible Foods, Intel, Macquarie Group Foundation, Regeneron, TCS, USAA, and more.
Carmen holds a BA in Political Science, French, and International Studies from the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh and an MPA in Nonprofit Financial Management from NYU Wagner School of Public Service. She spends her off-laptop hours with her family (two kids), friends, in the garden, enjoying art, sampling a new craft beer, and volunteering locally.
